The Mayor is the head of the City Government and presides over all meetings of City Council.
They are a voting member of City Council and represents the City at all civic events throughout the year.
The Mayor’s duties are to provide leadership, promote teamwork among City Council and coordinate City Council activities.

Mayor Sarah Pierce's "Citizen of the Quarter" program helps shine a spotlight on the city’s most dedicated volunteers and inspires others to get involved in making Watertown a better place for everyone.
Four individuals will be selected per year for the recognition (one per quarter). Recipients will receive a certificate, City Coin and custom-made pennant featuring the City Seal.
Residents are encouraged to nominate outstanding individuals who have made meaningful contributions to Watertown. Nominations can be submitted through the below form.

The Mayor distributes a monthly newsletter full of important information about the City and Community. The newsletter seeks to keep residents informed about Council activities, provide updates on City projects, gather ideas from the public on how to improve our community and more.
