MAYOR SARAH PIERCE APPOINTS MARY DOHENY AS WATERTOWN CITY COURT JUDGE
Mayor Sarah Pierce is pleased to announce the appointment of Mary Doheny as Watertown City Court Judge. Doheny will assume the position following the departure of Judge Anthony Neddo, who has been elected to serve as Jefferson County Family Court Judge.
“Mary Doheny’s extensive legal experience and unwavering dedication to public service make her the ideal choice for this important role,” said Mayor Pierce. “Her commitment to justice and her active involvement in our community ensure she will serve the people of Watertown with fairness and integrity.”
Doheny brings over 25 years of legal expertise, having worked at prominent law firms and a global investment firm before settling in Watertown more than a decade ago. She is deeply invested in the community, providing pro bono legal services, mentoring aspiring professionals, and participating in educational programs.
In 2021, Doheny was unanimously appointed by the City Council to the Board of Directors of the Development Authority of the North Country, where she now serves as Vice Chair. A graduate of The University of Pennsylvania Law School and Boston College, she is widely respected for her leadership and commitment to excellence.
Doheny expressed her gratitude for the opportunity, saying, “I am honored to be appointed to this position and thank Mayor Pierce for placing her trust in me. I look forward to serving the community and working alongside Judge Swartz and the dedicated staff and officers of the City Court.”
Doheny will assume her new role on January 1, 2025.
