The Bureau of Code Enforcement deals with Local and State regulations pertaining to life safety and the general welfare of the public. The Code Enforcement staff consists of the Supervisor, two officers, two Fire Prevention Bureau personnel and one aide.
Our officers review plans and make inspections in accordance with permits issued.
The Bureau of Code Enforcement also responds to citizens' complaints regarding property within the City limits.
This department falls under the Engineering department and between the two departments, issue a variety of permits from building to use permits.

There is a schedule of fees associated with the cost of the permit project.
A signature authorization from the property owner may be required for obtaining permits.
A main function of the Code Enforcement Department is to respond to citizens' complaints regarding property within the City Limits
When making a complaint, be sure you have the correct address for the property about which you are complaining. Be specific about your complaint. Have the date, location, description available.
