The Electric department maintains the City's traffic signal operation in addition to its responsibilities to all city-owned buildings.
The City maintains 38 traffic control signal or flashing light systems. All of our traffic signal systems have built in redundancies and fail safe protection to ensure that problems are rare. However in the event of power surges and outages we can experience a very serious condition in which the traffic light goes out completely. While we do have service technicians continuously on call it is recommended that you contact Jefferson County Dispatch who will in turn pass the appropriate information on to our technicians.
If your concern is not about an emergency situation but more about the systems functionality or timing then you should contact us at (315) 785-7847 or (315) 785-7770 and we will discuss and attempt to resolve any questions or concerns that you might have.
All streetlight questions and outages should be directed to National Grid or call 1-800-867-5222
