Overview

The water department's administration staff is responsible for processing 8,500 water and sewer bills along with 300 related service accounts.

The staff collects, compiles, and maintains data to produce bills and record revenue receipts.

Permits for water service installations, repairs, and renewals are issued through this office.

The staff of the administration office coordinates services with other City departments and outside agencies including:

  • NYS Department of Health
  • NYSDEC
  • NYSDOT
  • The Development Authority of the North Country (DANC) civilian personnel at Fort Drum

Residential water bills are issued quarterly (every three months) on the first of the month and commercial and industrial bills are issued monthly on the first of the month.

Bills are due on the 20th of the month in which they are issued. Charges for both water service and sewer service are normally included in a single bill.
